Our Story: Where It All Began

The name J2Hundy is rooted in the legacy of the Toyota Land Cruiser, a vehicle renowned for its reliability, durability, and off-road prowess. Since the launch of the first Land Cruiser in the early 1950s, Toyota has designated each model series with a numeric code. The “200” Series, introduced in 2007, represents the pinnacle of Land Cruiser evolution—a culmination of decades of innovation in off-road engineering. It earned the nickname “2Hundo” within enthusiast circles, a nod to its iconic status in the 4×4 community.

The “J” in J2Hundy refers to the URJ200 chassis code, Toyota’s official designation for the 200 Series and URJ201 for the LX570 here in North America with the 3URFE 5.7 V8. We honor this history by offering custom products and carefully sourced parts that push the 200 Series to new limits while maintaining the spirit of adventure that the Land Cruiser is built upon.

A Veteran-Owned, Colorado Small Business

J2Hundy Outfitters was founded by Chad Personeus, a Disabled Navy Veteran with a deep love for engineering and off-road adventures. With 4 years of service as an F/A18E/F Airframe Mechanic, Chad’s hands-on approach to problem-solving and attention to detail have been ingrained through his military experience. Today, those same values—commitment, precision, and innovation—fuel J2Hundy’s mission to serve the Land Cruiser community.

Born from Chad’s own experiences with his 2008 Land Cruiser “Wabi-Sabi,” J2Hundy Outfitters started in his garage and has since expanded into a specialized outfitter dedicated to helping others unleash the full potential of their 200 Series Land Cruisers.
